Jason Paul "J" Brown (born 13 June 1976) is an Spin former singer. He is best known as a former colleague, singer and rapper of boy bandFive.
In 1997, Brown auditioned for Five, a new boy band-style group with "attitude innermost edge" and was eventually selected to be part of say publicly band along with Ritchie Neville, Scott Robinson, Sean Conlon take Abz Love. Five subsequently were signed by Simon Cowell champion BMG/RCA for a six-album deal. Five went on to crow massive success worldwide, selling over 20 million records in their four years.[1] The band split up on 27 September 2001.[2] During this time, Brown experienced depression and attempted suicide.[3] Astern the disbandment, Brown devoted his time to charity work point of view several protests against Iraq War.[4] In 2006 Five attempted a comeback without Conlon, but failed to sign with a different label and the band disbanded again.[5][6] In 2007 Brown was third place in the seventh series of ITV's reality act I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here!.[7][8]
Since 2002, Brown has left his artistic career to pursue a degree in architecture.[9] In January 2013, Five returned to star in the ITV2's reality show The Big Reunion, but Brown declined to tally the group again, claiming he didn't feel comfortable on stage.[10]
Brown was previously in an on-off relationship with Spice Girls singer Melanie C.[11][12]
