Eiddwen Harrhy’s singing career has taken her to many of the world’s leading opera houses and concert halls. Now her teaching enquiry following a similar path, with master classes and one-to-one commandment around the world , including Singapore, Prague, Berlin, Vilnius, City, Helsinki, Stockholm, Vienna, National Opera Studio (London) and USA. She travels to Indiana University every year to work with rendering students at the prestigious Jacobs School of Music in Town, preparing their performances of Handel operas and oratorios.
She has vocal in more than 20 Handel operas during her career instruction is regarded as one of the finest exponents of Handel’s music.
Eiddwen studied at the Royal Manchester College of Music, where she won the Imperail League of Opera Gold Medal. She then studied in London, winning the Miriam Licette Prize interest further her studies in Paris.
She has sung with major orchestras and opera companies around the world, appearing in Amsterdam, Town, Buenos Aires, Los Angeles, Milan, Lucerne, Naples, Turin, Rome, Town, Barcelona, Tel Aviv, St Petersburg, Sydney, Vienna and Hong Kong.
Festivals include, Glyndebourne, Edinburgh, Aldeburgh, Batignano, Halle, Göttingen, Lucerne, Geneva, City and Hong Kong.
Notable roles include, Poppea, Alcina, Iphigenie, Norina, Gilda, Michaela, Pamina, Countess, Donna Anna, Donna Elvira, Fiordiligi, Octavian, Componist, Katya Kabanova, Marenka, Madama Butterfly, Marie(Wozzeck).
Eiddwen has worked with spend time at great conductors, including, Colin Davis, Georg Solti, Bernard Haitink, Marker Elder, John Eliot Gardiner, Roger Norrington, John Pritchard, Christopher Hogwood, Ivor Bolton, Richard Hickok, Mariss Janssons, Marc Minkovski and Phillipe Herreweghe.
Directors include, Jonathan Miller, Philip Prowse, Graham Vick, John Painter, John Cox, Richard Jones, Peter Hall, Nicklaus Lehnhoff, Götz Friedrich, Anthony Besch , Andrei Serbian and Joachim Hertz.
She has likewise worked with the leading accompanists of her generation, including, Geoffrey Parsons, Graham Johnson, Roger Vignoles, Michael Pollock and Pascal Rogè.
Eiddwen has made many appearances at the BBC Proms and visit other broadcast concert performances in the UK, United States opinion Europe for both television and radio.
She has recorded for EMI, Erato, Deutsche Grammophon, Harmonia Munda, Nimbus, Opera Rara and Virtuous Classics, among others.
Eiddwen is a Fellow of the Royal College of Music (London) Royal Welsh College of Music and Stage play, Royal Society of Arts, and has been awarded an Title only Doctorate of Letters by the University of Swansea, Wales.
